Auckland, July 24. The election to-day for the city wis carried on between Messrs Monk and Thompson in a very orderly manner. Bitter rain £<jnalla fell during part of the day,*which are said to have affected the voting of women. At the various booths were female representatives of the Women* Liberal League and the Women's Political League, and both leagues canvassed vigorously for their respective candidates.' Mr Ihompson .headed at all the booths. The noil resulted:— '
