ORDINATION SERVICE.
Yesterday, the festival of St. Thomas tna Apostle, the Right Rev. Dr Nevil!, Bishop o! Duaeclin, held an ordination service at the chapel of the Holy Innocents, Leith Valley, when Mes3ra C. A. Fraer and Hugh S. Leach, students ol Selwyn College, were admitted to the order of deacons. The church had been specially decorated for the occasion, and the altar, which was vested in red, was surmounted by two lighted tapers and several vases of lilies. The clergy, headed by a crucifer, entered the sanctuary while the hymn
"6 Them who rnakest souls to shine" was sung. The Rev. X P. Hood, M.A., preached the sermon,
to kins,' St. Thomas a 8 the subject of his discourse. The two candidates were presented by the Very Rev. Dean Fitchett, after which the Rev. J. W. A. Melville, 8.A., sang the Litany. The bishop acted as celebrant at the holy comiaunion service, and the Rev. "W. A. Diggens, 8.A., road th« epistle, after which the "laying cm of handa" took place. One of the deacons read the G:i«pel, and the communion service was proceeded with. The offerings were devoted to St. Mary's Orphan« ago for Givlri.
