The championship regatta took place to-day the weather being fine, and attendance large. The yacht Jessie Logan beat the Gannet. The latter carried away her mast and one of her crew fell overboard but was rescued. The accident, however, could not have affected the result. Captain Falconer exploded about 501bs of gun cotton placed under a boat, the mine being fired by the mayoress. The following were the results of the rowing events: —

Maiden Four-oared Inrigged Race, of one mile.—Wellington R.C. 1, Star (Wellington) 2, Nelson R.C. 3. Won by three lengths. Four-oared Outriggers Race, of one. mile and a-half—Nelson R.C. 1, Wakatu 2, Star 3, Wellington 4. Won by four lengths. Champion Four-oared Outriggers (with coxswain), of two miles. Prizes, L 25 and LlO. — Canterbury R.C. (J. M. Lawrie, J. Y. Daly, R. Speight, and L. M'Beath) 1, Star Boating Club 2, Wellington R.C. 3. Wakatu also started. The Canterbury crew soon forged ahead, and held the lead, pulling easily to the finish, winning by six lengths. Champion Sculls, one mile and a-half. Prize, 15; the winner to be amateur champion of New Zealand for the year.—M. Keefe (Auckland R.C.) 1, E. J. Rose (Wellington) 2, A. W. Newton (Star) 3. G. S. HUI (Wellington) also started. . Keefe, who was a warm favourite, went to the front at once, and held his own to the finish, winning by about a length and a-half. Ladies' Plate Four-oared Outriggers, of one mile and a-half.—Nelson R.C. 1, Wakatu 2, Wellington 3. Won by several lengths.
