Some months ago Mrs Nortb, a resident of St. Alband, und her brother Davis were left £60 each by a relative in England. The money was : lient, out through Bowman, who did not pay it j over. Davis consulted Mr T. S. Weston, | solicitor. Mrs North placed her case in tho hands of Stringer and (Jrtsswcll. K.-mmonscs wero issued Kgainbt Bowman, who confessed judgment and aligned the costs in two court | cases he was engaged in and expected to gain to meet the claims of Mrs North, Davis, aud j another uerson to whom he owed £100. H« left Cliii'islcliuicj about a fortnight &g O , aud lain whereabouts is uncertain. The principal court caac in which he assigned the costs, that of Jones v. M'Goveriu aud Hardy, was decided against his client by Mr Justice Denniston yesterday.
