ST.KILDA BOROUGH COUNCIL.
An ordinary meeting of the St. Kikla Borough Council, held last evening, was attended by the ru.iyor (Mr H. Gourley), Crs Stenhouse, Gore, Allen, and Caddie.
The Inspector of Works reported with reference to making a 3ft by 2ffc drain from low-water mark to the junction of West avenue with Park Ward, and estimated that the cost of the work would bo £115 18s. —It was resolved that a public meeting of the ratepayers be called for Friday week to consider the matter. The duly audited balance sheet for the halfyear ending September 30,1857, was laid on the table, and the mayor was authorised to sign it.
Accounts amounting to £14 0s 10d were passed for payment.
