Melboukne, July 27th. Snowfalls have been general throughout Victoria and the south-east of Australia.
The Ellenborough mino at Sandhurst is to be lighted by electricity shortly.
Intelligence has been received here thai cholera is now very prevalent in Batavia.
Arrived, this morning, the Union Company's s.s. Rotorua, from the Bluff.
Sailed, this morning, tho s.s. Hero, for the Bluff.
A destructive fire occurred to-day at Messrs Capper's Vinegar Works, Fitzroy. The damage is estimated at £13,000.
The intercolonial ploughing contest was concluded to-day. The first prize in all classes has been awarded by the judges to Victorian representatives.
