AUSTRALIAN NEWS.
Sydney, December 30th. During December, six thousand meals and fifteen hundred cases of shelter were afforded at the City Night Refuge and Soup Kitchen. The New South Wales Parliament will open on January 27th.
Melbourne, Deeemher 30th. A large fire has occurred in Beach street, Sandridge. Several buildings were destroyed, and a large amount of other property damaged. The fire was cansed by an incendiary.
Sir Eedmond Barry is to be sworn in as Acting-Governor on the departure of Sir George Bowen to Europe on leave of absence. There is no business doing.
Adelaide, December 30th. Shipping parcels of wheat have been sold at 4s Id per bushel. Flour, £10 ss.
