Acclimatisation. —Through the courtesy of the directors of the Peninsular and Oriental Company, the following valuable contributions have been received during the past week by the authorities of the Botanic Gardens :—A large quantity of fine Indian seeds, from Dr Anderson, of Calcutta; a quantity of Western Australian tree seed", comprising a large packet of the celebrated West Australian mahofany gum, hitherto the only timber which as successfully resisted the attacks of the teredo nacalis, from Sir Maxwell, Albany, King George's Saund ; a varied collection of ornamental tree 3 and shrub seeds from Messrs Vilmorin, Andricux and Co., Paris, with a miscellaneous assortment of the same kind of seeds from the Botanic Gardens of Lyons.— Argun.
