PUBLIC WORKS IN THE NORTH.
(Per Press Association.) ' Stratfoid,-May 10. The Hon. R, M'Kenzic and party; yesterday went over-the line'to Whangamomoua, where they"were enthusiastically received and banqueted. An address of welcome was presonted : at Whangamomona. In' replying, the Minister stated that ballast trains at any rate would be running as far as Whangamomona by Christmas. The Minister went through the Ohura country to-day, and expects to reach Wellington on Saturday'night.
