GENERAL ELECTION.

To the Editor.

Sir, —I observed a local in your paper one evening lately re above, stating that the Hon. T. Y. Duncan intends tp let the electors know in good time when he intends to retire from public life. That is all very good: still, as we all know any elector can offer his services, cr be asked by a petition to come .forward as a candidate. I should like to see our Harbor Board Chairman, Mr R. Milligah, contesting the seat against allcomers. No use denying the fact, he would make an ideal M.P. I need not at present say more than ask tlie question, Who is more qualified to worthily represent us? and Who has done more service'to the town of. Oamaru and district than Mr Milligan during his long term as Mayor and also as Chairman of the Harbor Board? As the election will soon come found it behoves lis all. to look round and select one who has youth, energy, and ability to represent us in Parliament. —I am, etc., AN ELECTOR, Oamaru, IJay 9th, 1911.
