CRIMELESS INVERCARGILL.

(Per Press Association.) Invercargill, September 3. In an article en crimeless Invercargill Mr G. B. Nicholls quotes from the congratulatory addresses of Judges Cooper, Williams, Chapman, and Denniston, and shows that in the last three years and a-quarter only seven convictions have been recorded in the Supreme Court on matters that arose in Invercargill. Most of the cases were of a trivial nature, and two of there arose in the Awarua district. _The comparison with such places as Napier and Wanganui with a less population, is very marked. He concludes: "If the Government will only give the people a chance by a national vote on any sort of equal' terms, New Zealandcrs will assuredly sweep the drink traffic away at the 1911 election."
