(Per Press Association.) Auckland, September 2. In the Police Court this morning Arnold Hare, a young man, was charged with having sent to T. E. Clark letters containing threats, with intent to extort money. One letter received by Clark demanded £SO for jiot disclosing matters concerning a certain firm, and the money was to be deposited in a certain place. The police were informed and a watch was set, the accused being arrested. At the request of the police, the accused was remanded. Bail was allowed in two sureties of £SO each.
