ACCIDENTS & FATALITIES.

(Pep. Press Association.) Gisbonie, September 2. Mr W. D. Livick, chief clerk of the local post office, died suddenly this eveniug. He was watching the Salvation Army in the street when he lurched and fell heavily on the side walk, expiring shortly after. He was said-to suffer from heart disease. Deceased . was 54 years of age, and came from Thames in March of last year. He joined the civil service in the early seventies, and leaves a widow and grown-up son and daughter. ■ Wellington, September 2. A man named Harold St'antlc, or Standall, about 45 years of age, understood to be a resident of Marton, was found on the railway line this evening, having been knocked down by a train. The accident does not seem to have been witnessed by anybody. The injured man is unconscious in the hospital, suffering from concussion of the brain, maybe from fracture,of the skull, though this was not certain at the time of telegraphing. Wellington, September 3. •Harold Standle, the victim of the railway accident last night, died this morning. He never regained consciousness.
