VALUABLE PLANS LOST ENGINEER’S MISHAP. Australian and N.Z Cable Association, \ LONDON, January 9. The story of the loss of a railway plan in a cab during dinner, necessitating a costly expedition to Africa, is recalled by the death of Sir Francis Fox, who successfully undertook the stupendous task of bridging the Victoria Falls. Arriving in London after the survey, he drove to a restaurant. telTTng the cab-driver to wait. Over-tired, he dozed off. Then suddenlv he realised that he had left the plans in the call and dashed outside. He found the cab gone, and never traced it. The re-survey cost £4OOO.
