KING DISLIKES THE SHINGLE
REGULATIONS SLACKNESS NOTICEABLE. Australian and N. 7,. Cable Association. (Received January 10, 7.20 p.m.) LONDON, January 9. In view of King George’s decided aversion to the shingle, the “Daily Chronicle” says it is anticipated that there may be a tightening up of the Court dress regulations, which last year raised an objection to the shingle, but requested that the coiffure be so arranged as not to interfere with the correct adjustments of plumes and veil. A certain slackness in this connection may be responsible for new regulations.
The only shingled Royalty, Princess Arthur of Connaught, invariably conceals the fact in the presence of the King.
