TROUBLE WITH REFEREES
REFUSAL TO ACT OTHER ARRANGEMENTS MADE. Per Press Association. AUCKLAND, July 23. The Association Football Referees' Association resolved to inform the A.F.A. that no referees would be available next Saturday except for the primary school games. Friction arose last Saturday over a number of referees who regularly' controlled junior matches desiring a day off to watch the senior games. The management declined to accede to the request, and intimated that referee passes for senior games would be withdrawn in the event of the referees not fulfilling their engagements. The chairman said tho committee had arranged for referees other than those of the association to take charge of the senior games.
