DICTATOR OF TURKEY

KEMAL ALMOST WORSHIPPED TYRANT OF THE MUSSOLINI ORDER FEARS ASSASSINATION By Telegraph.—Press Assn. —Copyright. “Sun" Cable.) LONDON, May 23. A “Daily News’' correspondent, visiting luiKey, declares that Kemal’s dictatorship is due to the slogan “Turkey for the Turks,” whicn is generally accepted throughout th© country. Kemal is regarded as the country s defender against foreign aggression. He is practically worshipped, hundreds of people making long pilgrimages for the purpose of resenting pathetically small gifts and obtaining Kemal’s blessing. Kemal is undoubtedly a tyrant. He openly defies the conventions, relying on his personal virtues. He ignores Parliament, and is an egotist as great as Mussolini, whom ho imitates, but he is partly inspired by Moscow, especially as to the organisation of the Tribunal of Independence run like the Cheka. Although the tribunal destroys scores against the Cheka’s thousands, nevertheless, Kemal refused to visit Constantinople, fearing assassination.
