A 13-year-old boy* Thomas Sedgman, and a companion ran away from home, intending to have a country adventure. They reached Blackheath, and spent a cold night in the bufih without food. A policeman found them next morning, supplied them with breakfast, and sent them home by train When he arrived at home, Sedgman’s mother asked him where he had been. The Imy without replying went to the bedroom. A few minutes later a revolver shot was heard and the hoy was discovered dead, shot through the head. He had left a note for his mother saying that he was sorry for what he was going to do, and asking her to 6ay good-bye to the whole iamily.
