HIGH COMMISSIONERSHIP
SIR JAMES ALLEN’S RETURN The Hon. Sir James Parr, High Commissioner-elect, is expected to arrive in England on or about June Ist. He will be two months in England before he takes over his new office; the Hon. Sir James Allen does not vacate office till July 31st. Sir James Allen, it is understood, contemplates returning to New Zealand shortly after the expiry of his term as High Commissioner. He will travel via Canada, and it is possible he will visit the East before getting back to New Zealand. A London report that Sir James Allen intends to remain in London for some time after he ceases to be High Commissioner, in order to assist his successor, and also to assist the Rf. Hon. J. G. Coates at the Imperial Conference, can be disregarded.
