MOTOR FATALITY
INQUEST ON VICTIMS OAR RUNS INTO LOOSE GRAVEL. Per Press Association. INVERCARGILL, April 28. An inquest was held regarding the metor smash at Dipton on April 6th, when Alexander McKenzie ana Tliomae Price, the driver, were fatally injured. John William Murphy, the third occupant, who escaped slightly injured, states that the car was travelling at thirty to thirty-five miles an hour when it reached a stretch of loose gravel. The back of the car swung roanci, and it capsized. He removed McKenzie from beneath the car, hut he died in a few minutes. Medical aid was promptly summoned. The police stated that the brakes appeared to have been applied and the front wheels were looked to the left. One wheel was damaged, and the tyre was punctured. The car was practically new. Apparently ft was travelling so fast that the driver could not keep in on the roaa. A verdict of accidental death was returned.
