Reuter's Telegram * (Received April 18 ; 5.5 p.m.) Lord and Lady Reading arrived in London from India, and were welcomed by representatives of the King and the jPrime Minister, and by the Earl of Birkenhead. An Austro-Polish arbitration treaty has been signed. It is valid for three years. Mr H. S. Beland has resigned the Canadian portfolio of Minister of Health and Soldiers’ Civil Re-establish-ment. Mr J. C. Elliott, Minister for Lands, has been sworn in as Minister of these two departments. Mr Boland’s resignation was for tlie purpose of reducing the size of the Cabinet. Sir James Allen sent a letter to the of the Shakespeare Memorial Theafre, commending, on behalf of New Zealand, the decision to rebuild the theatre, expressing hope that every support will he forthcoming.
