HOCKEY
WELLINGTON PUBLIC SCHOOLS’ ASSOCIATION. The W.P.S.H.A. held their third annual meeting on Tuesday last in the Education Board’s rooms, Mercer street. Mr A. A. Kirk presided over a fair attendance of delegates. The annual report, presented by the secretary,, showed that the Schools Association had had a wonderful year, and, the prospects for the coming season were better than ever. Messrs Paul and Kirk presented a draft constitution of the W.P.S.H.A., which was accepted subject to one or two alterations. Mr McCallister, of the Wellington Hockey Association, attended and outlined the various schemes for the coming Indian Army hockey team’s tour.
Tho election of officers resulted as follows:—Patron, Mr B. Kean; president, Mr A. A. Kirk; vice-presidents, Messrs C. Grant and H. Paul; lion, secretary and treasurer, Mr W. F. R. Atkinson; committee, Messrs Simpson, Ferguson, Feilder, and Francis; delegate to W.H.A., Mr W. F. R. Atkinson.
It was decided to make a levy of 2s 6d per team, with a maximum of ss, in order to cope with expenses of the coming season.
