MONEY OBTAINED BY FALSE PRETENSE J LABOURER IMPRISONED. George Ward, a labourer aged 30 years, appeared before Mr E. l’age, S.M., yesterday morning charged with obtaining £8 from Alexander Ross Munro, of Palmerston North, by falsely representing that he had a Post Office savings bank account at Wanganui. Ward pleaded guilty. “Accused is at present serving a sentence of two months* ’ imprisonment,” stated Chief-Detective Ward, “for a theft committed at Taihape. The- magistrate 1 imposed a sentence of one month’s imprisonment to be served at the expiration of the current sentenoe.
