ILLEGAL COMBINE ALLEGED CANADIAN”FRUIT TRADE Australian and N.Z. Cable Association. VANCOUVER, March 9. The trial of 53 Western Canada fruit-jobbers and individuals, charged by the Federal Government with conspiracy and illegal combine, ended on Tuesday with the completion of the defence evidence. Several days were occupied in the defence and the Crown addresses and the judge’s charge to the jury. The trial is the lengthiest and the most expensive in the history of criminal prosecution in British Columbia, lasting 32 court, days.
