DUTIES OF THE KING
PRINCE TO BE INITIATED TO TAKE MORE ACTIVE SHARE TOURING AT AN END By Telegraph.—Press Assn.—Copyright \9ydney “Sun” Cable.) LONDON, February 3. The “Daily Nens” states that the Prince of "Wales will shortly come into closer touch with the machinery of Government. Jt is the King’s wish that the Prince, having completely' toured the Empire, should be initiated into the heavy routine work which will eventually fall to his Jot. Arrangements have been made whereby he will visit the King daily and participate in His Majesty’s work and be brought into more intimate touch with Ministers and officers of State. 'Die King, like King Edward and Queen Victoria, is fully acquainted with the smallest details of documents to which he affixes his signature, many of the highest importance, sometimes numbering hundreds a day. When the Prince is
taking a more active share in State affairs the King will be enabled to enjoy more holidays. Jli.s visit to South Europe in 1925 was so beneficial that the doctors are urging a repetition. When the King takes a holiday again the Prince of "Wale* will bo either head of a Special Commission representing the giving or vested with the Commission’s whole powers.
