WEDDING AT ST. JOSEPH’S

. A wedding .of much interest in that tho bride; was the niece of Mr ;J. O’Sullivan. one of the original ,? All Blacks,’’ took place at -St. Josephus Church, Buckie street,-on-Alonday last, the Rev. Father Cdllen officiating. Hie bride was Marion Teresa . Gower, only daughter of the late William: Gower and of Mrs Gower, of Patea, and the bridet room. Reginald - Crawford. Lawrence, fth son of Mr and Airs James Lawrence, of Aramoho, Wanganui. \ Tho bride was - given away. by her uncle, Mr J. G’SulKyan, and wae gowned in white pleated georgette over silver tissue, the bodioe worked with hand-made-pink roses. She wore: the orthodox veil with-orange blossoms, and carried- a shower bouquet of stepanotis roses and carnations tied with- white and silver ribbon. The ’• bridesmaids were the Misses Irene and . Kathleen O’Sullivan, cousins of: the' bride, and Helen Gibson, niece of the bridegroom. They • wore frocks of . pale pink georgette,; and juliet caps trimmed’ with tiny pink roses,'and carried, bouquete of rosea end ,carnations, and . lavender, with frills. of tulle. All the bouquets were the gifts of Mrs J. O’Sullivan. The best man was Mr John .Culliriane, • of Wanganui, The . bride’s present to the bridegroom was a dressing-case, and that of-the bridegroom to-the . bride a solitaire diamond ring.. The bridesmaids’ gifts were ■ initialled pearl bangle*. • < After -the ceremony the wedding breakfast was held at the‘Grand Hotel, Mrs-Gower, mother, of the bride, re-ceived-the guests-wearing toast coloured georgette and. lace, and hat to match. She carried a posy of ’ bronze coloured pansies and rosea. Mrs O’Sullivan, - aunt of the bride. 1 wore biscuit coloured lace with hat to toiie, and' carried a bouquet of'roses; fuchsia, and {Clematis. Among those present were Mrs- W. H. -Gibson, <in navy blue sarin, with orange' colour,’ and hat to taatch; Airs -W. G. Henry, in nary and red' marocain; Mrs J.Lawrence, of Carterton, in black and white crepe-de-chin'e,' with- hat en' suite,- Later the bride and bridegroom lefton: their honeymoon, the former travelling in, a frock of fawn georgette and laoe,- and smart black hat’.with'-, ospreys. The honeymoon will be spent in the South Island. Mr'and Mrs Lawrence will leave for a trip, fo the Old Country, in March'.
