SCHOOL TERMS
HOLIDAY PERIODS At the meeting of the Wellington Education Board a letter was received from the Director of Education (Mr J. Caughley) stating that tho department was quite in sympathy with the board’s desire for synchronisation of holidays throughout the , Dominion. It was solely with that object that'the suggested scheme of dates for terms and vacations was issued in the last two years. So much misunderstanding with regard . to the department’s action had been shown to exist, however, that the issue of the suggested synchronisation scheme had been abandoned for this year. Final approval was given to the dates suggested for the arrangement of the pilbiic school terms next year. The dates are: First term, February Ist to May 14th; second term, May 31st to August 20th ; third term, September 6th to Dooember 17tli.
