COST OF MANGAHAO
A MILLION AND THREE-QUAR-TERS TO DATE. In reply to a question as to the cost of the hydro-electric scheme at Mangnhao, the Prime Minister said the expenditure to date amounted to £1,750,000. Of this there would be a transfer of over half a million for transmission. The upper dam at Mangahao was estimated to cost £150,000 — or even £200,000, including extras.
