PARLIAMENT BUILDINGS
MORE WORK AFTER SESSION STATEMENT BY~PRIME MINISTER. When asked in the House as to the intentions of the Government in the direction of adding to Parliament Buildings, the Prime Minister (Hon. J. G. Coates) stated that a start with the foundations. of the additions would be made immediately on the conclusion of the session. “We had hoped to do a great deal more than this,” he continued, “but we now find that there is not sufficient money to do more than make a good start on the foundations.” The library would have to stay in its present place, because the room at Bellamy’s would not permit sufficient space in that quarter. Mr G. W. Forbes, Leader of the Opposition: The present place is the best for it.
