DISTRESSING FATALITY
ACCIDENT IN FOUNDRY YOUNG MAN‘LOSES LIFE. As the result of an accident which occurred at Niven and Co.’s foundry early yesterday morning, Reginald Cookj a young man, aged 20 years l , residing at 59, Mein street, Newtown, lost his life. The unfortunate young man, in climbing on to rafters in order to replace the belt of one of the lathes, became entangled in the belting, receiving fearful injuries before being extracted by his fellow workmen. He was immediately hurried away to the hospital, being admitted at 9 a.m., but subsequently died at 11.30 a.m., two and a half hours later. The deceased young man was single, and was very popular among his fellow workmen, to whom i;he tragic circumstances surrounding his death came as a terrible shoes.
