BANK MANAGER ARRESTED
CHARGED WITH THEFT OVER £6OOO INVOLVED. •"Per Press Association. STRATFORD, August 7, William Kerr, ex-bank ‘manager, was arrested this afternoon, and charged, before Justices of the Peace, with “that on or about July Ist, 192 b, at Stratford, being a servant of the Union Bank of Australia, ho did steal the sum of £495 in money, the property of the bank.” Detective Walsh asked for a remand, and said, he was instructed to ask that bail, if granted, be made substantial, as other charges Were pending, the total sum involved being over £6OOO. A remand was granted to August 14th, bail being in the accused’s own recognisance of £3OO and two sureties of £l5O each.
