TO REPLACE PETROL
NEW SYNTHETIC GASOLINE AMERICAN DEVELOPMENT. Australian and N.Z. Cable Association. LOS ANGELES, August 6. It is unofficially reported that a combine, with a total capital of 5000 million dollars, is backing the production of an automobile of revolutionary design, driven by a new and powerful synthetic gasoline. It is said that the General Motors Corporation will install a sensational engine in their five makes of automobiles to use the new fuel, which has been produced in the vast laboratories, of the Dupont Chemical Corporation, from raw materials. The Standard Oil Company gathers that the parties concerned refuse to give any definite information.
