POLAR EXPLORAHGN
ALL-METAL AIRPLANES. Australian .and N.Z Cable Association. LONDON, August 6. .The explorer, Captain G. H. Wilkins, visited the d’Ornier aircraft factory at Pisa and completed arrangements for the delivery of an all-metal machine, similar to that used by Captain Amundsen, but- with improvements suggested by Amundsen’s experiences. Delivery cannot he made till mid-Octo-ber, which will probably be too late for Wilkins’s use during a proposed Ross, Sea expedition this year. In that event a smaller all-metal Junker machine will be secured for a preliminary survey of the coastline of .Ejng Edward the Seventh Land prior to the completion of the larger- machine.
