DAIRY PRODUCE
THE SEASON’S SHIPMENTS ' ARRANGEMENTS MADE BY BOARD. Per Press Association. NEW PLYMOUTH, July 22. A rumour that Now Plymouth was to be cut out as a port for tho loading of dairy produce drew a denial from Mr H. D. Forcyth, a member of tho Control Boarl, who indicated the future policy of the board in regard to tho dispatch of produce. "There rs no intention, whatever, of cutting out the port of New Plymouth at the present time.” Mr Forsyth declared. “The shipping companies don’t want to cut out any of the larger ports, and they are anxious to have them nil included. Further, they say, when interviewed. their vessels hav© t<> call at these ports to unload, and that they might as well be picking up produce. "I can quite assure you that there i 6 no : ntention of cutting out the port. We have practically decided to set up our offices at the ports to attend to direct shipments,” continued Mr Forsyth. The ports for the North Island will be Wellington. Auckland, and New Plymouth, and for the South Island Lyttelton, Bluff, and Port Chalmers. "As far as shipping in future is concerned we have other matters under consideration. but they sire not iipe for publication at the present time. We hav© a promise of much better prospects of equal and regular deliveries of dairy produce for the cominr season than we have been having in the past. A good deal of produce has been transhipped to Wellington, but anything we i©uld send direct has been sent, and we intend to carry out that policy in future.*’
