MONTHLY MEETING. The monthly meeting of the New Zealand Philosophical Society was held last evening, the president, Mr A. C. Gifford, being in the chair. The subject treated was the Maori race; interesting papers being read by Mr A. Phillips on Maori dress, domestic utensils and food supply; by Mr Johannes Andersen on Maori music, and by Mr H. Hamilton on Maori carvings and ornamentation.
