FIGURES AT THE PORT INCREASED CARGO HANDLED. The statistics recording the movements of the Port of Wellington for the month of June show that the net registered tonnage of trading vessels arriving totalled 247,276 tons, as compared with 214,872 tons for tho corresponding period of last year, while the grand total of cargo brought to a tonnage shows that in June, 1924, 110,227 tons were handled, and last month the total was 132,788 tons, an increase of 22,56 P tons. Tonnage of the overseas departures was 121,756 tons, as against 52,468 tons for June, 1924. Timber Imports (1,687,843 square feet) 9,187,065 square feet, exports (220,352 square feet) 139,218 square feet. Coal: Imports over wharves paying wharfage (15,243 tons) 14,612 tons, transhipped overside (17,420 tons) 12,636 tons, Government coal landed, exempt from wharfage (6000 tons) 5715 tons.
