The first ItugJjy match of 1925 for the Harding Shield was played to-day, when the holders, North Wairoa, il (two tries, owe converted, and a penalty goal) beat Otamatea, 3 (a penalty goal). The game throughout was hard, but was not a good exposition of football Two of the North Wairoa players met with accidents. S'eymotir broke an ankle and Underwood a rib. The next match is on Saturday, when the holders play Whangarei. To-day’s attendance was a record.
