COCAINE CAN GO
NEW ANAESTHETIC FOUND * MEDICAL ANNOUNCEMENT. Reuter’s Telegram. (Received July 19, 5.5 p.m.) LONDON, July 18. The discovery of a new local anaesthetic, possessing all the virtues of cocaine and none of its perils, was announced at the annual meeting of the British Medical Association at Bath The Dominions and India, Ceylon, and Hong Kong are lepresented at the meeting. The anaesthetic was discovered at Cambridge by Dr. Copeland, who has been awarded a memorial scholarship worth £2OO.
