The very popular concert given by Mrs !J. Paterson, hostess, tA seafarers on j Tuesday, at the Sailors' Friend Society, Iliad a programme filled With items that. ‘ drew forth appluuse and encores. The | performers were Airs J. Paterson, the Misses Howarth, Ruby Shepherd, Douglas, Maris, Windsor, and Messrs East, Stevenson, Howarth, Bremner, Burdan, Crftnn, Thompson, Reynolds, and Master Ramsden. Mrs Rowarth and Mr Burdan were at the piano. Air Afoore (missioner) spoke on “Right" in relation to the temperance question. Pledges followed. Again the competitions were most successful. the prizes—from the hostess and the Victoria League—going to the Alatutua.
