> PETONE CJjUB. MUSKETRY PRACTICES.' - "The Petone Rifle Club fired the first competition of the musketry practices on Saturday. The weather conditions were good and in consequence some goodl scores were made. P The first practice was at 100 yards, and the possible of 25 points was scored if I the five shots were placed within a four inch circle. R. H.,Nicholl was the only one to do this, though several came very close. The second practice was five rounds slow at 200 yards, with a possible score of 20. Pour competitors scored 19,1 J. Scott being the best with a finish' Of four Ten rounds rapidi at the same range to be fired in 60 seconds was the next event. . There again J. Scott was top with 36 put of 40, including seven h’JiJa-fyes! JEV WarburtAn was close up with 35. Eive rounds at the figure targot of five-seconds exposure was the sext trial; J. Hunter, W. Molver and T. Warburton ■ placod all their shots in 'the figure. -Five rounds; slow at 500 yalrds .showed that W Mclver, wao /best with 17 points out of 20. ■ T‘._ Warburton, with ; very consistent
