At Cardiff, Wales beat France by 11 ■ points to S The Dublin, match was a hard-fought contest. Handling'was difficult owing to the greasy hall. Play was even, ana there was no score till jußt before the close of the first spell, when Scotland secured a which was converted. In the second hjdf the Irishmen attacked heavily, but the Scottish defence held. . In the closing stages there was witnessed a splendid* exciting struggle. The Cardiff match attracted 20,000 / ipectatora. The French heeled out well, and made some fine rushes which were stopped by the Welsh, who at halftime led 3 poults to nil.'The home team showed superibrity in the second spell.
