At the general election - last -October, the polling at' 'Walsall resulted:—W. Preston (Con.), 15,163; P. Collins (Lib.). 12,734; G. L. R. Small (Lab,), 11,474; J. Lynch (Ind.), 622. Y Mr Preston is head of an electrical engineering, firm, and is very popular on account of his . association with ■port. Dr Macnamara was Minister for Labour'in 1920-22.
