A£ a conference of representatives of local governing bodies interested in the supply of electricity from the City Council, at which about 28 councils were represented, a motion was carried that the dp inference considered that the generation and distribution of electricity within the metropolitan area other than what was required by the Railway and Tramway Department could best be handled by municipal enterprise without Government interference.
