AUCKLAND ASSAULT CASES
LECKY COMMITTED FOR Per Press Association. AUCKLAND, October 14. In the charge of assault against Edward . Leoky, MiBS Salek stated in her evidence that she was passing through Albert Park at 7.45 p.m., when near the custodian’s house she heard footsteps, then felt a hand on her shoulder, and a hand on her mouth. She felt a blow on the back, but did not remember any more till she found herself
face downwards on the grass. She could not identify her assailant. Accused pleaded not guilty of assault on Miss Salek, indecent assault on two girls, and common asault on a girl. He was committed for trial. Bail was not sought.
