ORDER FOR LOCOMOTIVES
GIVEN TO AUSTRALIA. TO HELP THE INDUSTRY. By Telegraph.—Press Assn.—Copyright. MELBOURNE, March 22. The Federal Government has accepted the Australian tender for the construction of 14 locomotives. There were 11 British and nine foreign tenderers, all lower than the Australian, but the Government decided to accept the latter in view of promoting Australian industry.
