LOST SUBMARINE
CREW BELIEVED DEAD. NO REPLY TO MESSAGES. Renter’s TelearejnTOKIO, March 21. Though salvage work is being continued for Submarine 43, it is believed that the imprisoned crew are now dead as no response has been made to communications since Wednesday evening. An attempt to raise the vessel’s stern failed, and it is now proposed to tow the vessel into shallower waters.
