RIDES THIRD IN RACE. LONDON, October 18. Wearing rogulation jockey’s silk colours and breeches, Betty Tanner, the daughter of a Newmarket owner, finished third in the Newmarket Town Plate. This is the first occasion on^ which a woman jockey has ridden in the race, which was open to the children of Newmarket residents.
