TRAFFIC LICENSE FEES
The fortnightly meeting of tho Petone Borough Council was presided over by the Mayor of Petone (Mr J. W. McEwan) last evening. Councillors C. P. Brocklebank, V. Jacobson, R. H. Jones, A. J. Pointon, H. Jay, W. Hay, G. Cook, and P. W. Coles were present. Sladden and Pavitt, surveyors, wrote in respect of the transfer of Percy to Pointon, Wakefield street, asking that the Council pass the necessary resolution to exempt Wakefield street from the Public Works Act, and to make provision to carry the street pack 33 feet from tho centre of the road. The matter was referred to the borough solicitor for a report. The representatives of Petone Council are to meet delegatee from the Lower Hutt and Wellington City Council with a view to arranging a ba#?is for one charge on heavy traffic licensing fees. Each body is to receive a proportionate amount of the levy which is decided on.
