ARMY BANK SMASH
McGREGOR TOO' ILL TO BE EXAMINED. “DISEASE OF THE HEART.” Australian and H.Z. Cable Association. (Received October 27, 5.5 p.m.) LONDON, October 26. ~ The Bankruptcy Court has issued an order to dispense with the public examination of Sir C. R. McGregor regarding the hank failure. The doctor’s affidavit stated that McGregor was suffering from advanced valvular disease and heart-6train, and an examination would probably be fatal. The Registrar, replying to a protesting creditor, said that obviously they could not examine a dying man.
Sir C. R. McGregor, Bart., was head of a company which acted as Army Bank agents during the war, and was arrested in connection with the hank’s failure. The liabilities of the institution amounted to £BOO,OOO and the assets £2-76,000. McGregor’s estate was estimated to produce £SOO.
