PHILIPPINES SITUATION
PLEA FOR INDEPENDENCE
UPRISING BECOMING MORE SERIOUS.

The political situation lias grown more tense with the resignation of the four appointive members of the Legislature designated by Mr "Wood, on the ground that they are unable to agree with the latter’s policy. Tho resignation is considered a distinct victory for the independence movement. Those resigning announced that all hope of cooperation between the executive and legislative departments of Philippines is lost. Plans aro proceeding for two missions to the United States to plead for Philippine independence. Meanwhile reports' continue of the More uprising being widespread throughout Mindanao and that it is more oorious than ever before.
